Want pro tips from the Red Bull Skydive Team? Jump in.

When it comes to skydiving goals, making the Red Bull team is definitely up there. We recently caught up with team members Max Manow, Felix Seifert, Marco Fürst and Marco Waltenspiel to discover their favourite jumps, top tips on going pro and where we can watch them in the coming months.

Let’s start at the beginning. Where and when did you all learn to skydive?

Max Manow - 2006 at a small 182 DZ in the South of Germany Felix Seifert - 2008 at my local DZ, Skydive Hohenems Marco Fürst - 2009 at my local DZ, Skydive Hohenems Marco Waltenspiel - 2001 at a small Airfield in Austria

How did you become part of the Red Bull Skydive Team?

Max - I'm not sure. The existing team was re-organising itself and somehow I was asked to join. Felix - Marco F and I grew up together and I got him into skydiving back when I was 16 and he just turned 18. Before he joined the team back in 2014 we were training them, and in 2017 one spot opened up and Marco gave me a phone call… that’s how I ended up here! Marco F - I joined the old team at the beginning of 2014, but we broke up at the end of 2014. Marco Waltenspiel and I started a company together and renewed the team complete with a new concept and direction at the beginning of 2015. Marco W - I was asked if I would be interested to be part of a professional Skydive team in 2007 and I was like - boooom for sure! So since 2008, I have been part of the Red Bull Skydive Team.

You all have a lot of jumps and awesome experiences under your belt now, but what is the coolest thing you’ve done as a team?

Max - B.A.S.E. Trip to Norway and our Project over the Streif Ski Race! Felix - I think the track preview of the alpine downhill (Streif Project) was pretty dope. Austrian winters can get pretty cold but it was really special to fly down this famous race track. Marco F - Over the past years I'm grateful to say I have done so much cool stuff - it’s hard to choose! :) Some of them - BANG ON TIME, MEGA SWING, Flying over an active volcano, Gravitas, Kitzbühel project, Norway Project, Valentine’s project etc. Marco W - It’s super hard to pick just one! I think the whole journey with my team is just crazy cool and every year or every project is something special to me.

Now we’re in 2022 and we can’t believe how fast the time is flying by this year. What are your 2022 highlights so far?

Max - The year started with a showjump for new years eve over Madeira Island. No more than 2 weeks after that, we met for a performance camp in Argentina with all Red Bull Skydive Athletes. It's been an incredible experience. 2022 is looking to be a busy and exciting year already! Felix - The Red Bull Aerial Performance Camp in La Cumbre has been one of its kind. So much fun to hang out with all these freaks and jump together. Marco F - What Max and Felix say :) Honestly, I'm just stoked and the year is almost full - can't wait for this year. Currently packing my stuff up to go and fly down the Eiger with my team and friends! Marco W - What the others say ;-D

What is coming up for you in the next few months?

Max - Showjumps, Camps and Projects. It never stops. Stay tuned and watch our social media pages for upcoming adventures. Felix - Next weeks are gonna be busy with training for the Indoor Skydiving Championships before we kick off our season in Europe. Looking forward to getting back to events in a post-pandemic world. Marco F - Currently packing my stuff up to go and fly down the Eiger and play around the Swiss/Italian alps with my team and friends! After that, we prepare for demos and projects. Marco W - At the moment I am preparing for a BASE trip to Switzerland and Italy.

Finally, what are your top tips for upcoming skydivers who want to turn pro?

Max - Be patient, stay safe and enjoy the ride. Felix - Forget about everything else, find somebody to work on your goals with and commit yourself 100% to skydiving. Marco F - Go with the flow and ride the ups and downs like a wave! Marco W - Take your time and stay safe. It sounds like 2022 has been an incredible year so far for these guys and we're not even halfway!
